Bio
I'm an American-born writer who lives in Wales with my husband, fellow writer psamphire, our toddler son, "Mr Darcy", and our crazy-sweet border collie mix, Maya. My trilogy of Regency-era fantasy novels for kids is being published as Kat, Incorrigible in North America and The Unladylike Adventures of Kat Stephenson in the UK.

Book One was published as Kat, Incorrigible in the US and A Most Improper Magick in the UK, where it won the Waverton Good Read Children's Award for best début children's novel by a British author. The first three chapters are available to read online.

My second book was published as Renegade Magic in the US and A Tangle of Magicks in the UK. You can read the first three chapters on my website.

My third book will be published on October 1, 2012 in the UK as A Reckless Magick, and on April 2, 2013 in America as Stolen Magic. Again, you can read the first three chapters on my website!

My short stories for adults have been published in a variety of magazines, anthologies, and podcasts. You can check out the full list of my published short stories, which includes several stories available to read online.

You can also read the story of how writing the Kat trilogy quite literally saved me during the worst time of my life.

For more about me and my books, my website, http://www.stephanieburgis.com, is the best place to go. Alternately, you can see even more photos of Maya and our various travels in my Flickr account. For shorter (but more frequent) updates, check out my twitter account. To read my older journal (with archives all the way back to 2003), please visit http://www.journalscape.com/steph.

You can find this blog mirrored on my website and leave comments either here or there.

I am also a member of The Elevensies, a wonderful LJ community for debut writers of books due to be published in America 2011. Come on by and visit! :)
