Alas, the sun I love doesn't necessarily love me. Yesterday I spent a wonderful day out on the patio, hanging out with a good friend (who also, in a HUGE stroke of luck for me, happens to be my sister-in-law) and talking about all sorts of things...and by mid-afternoon my shoulders, arms, legs, and even feet were lobster-red.
Sigh. It was totally worth it...but today, for the first time since British summer arrived, I haven't spent any time on the patio. My skin isn't quite ready yet for an encore.
Also, I'm on a tight deadline. Kat3 is due to my American editor one week from today. ACK! Yes, I will have a draft to send her no matter what - I'm doing a rewrite now, not a first draft - but ohhhh, I really want it to be a GOOD draft, as good as it deserves to be. And I'm panicking a little bit (...she said, understating wildly) about whether I'll manage that by next Monday.
So...journal entries and emails may be a bit sparse (and shorter than usual) this week.
Please wish me luck!

Good luck with the rewrite!!!
(And apologies again for not getting you comments on Kat3 -- although I am comforted by the fact that the first draft ROCKED, even if you make no changes to it. :)
Hugs and fleet fingers!

And...good luck!
It's your third novel in this series. Your editor knows you have it in you to produce a publication-grade product. They also know that authors don't always get it right first time. The only unforgivable sin is not handing something in; it's perfectly okay to hand in a draft with a cover note saying "I'm not 100% happy to let this go; what do you think?" They'll probably say "fix X and Y", at which point you've got time to fix X and Y and anything else that you thing needs working over but you didn't get right first time round.
The sun doesn't like me either ;) *scratches slightly sunburnt left arm*
*Passing the virtual aloe cream...*
And what is with you? I bet Mr. D got plenty of sunscreen. *scolds* Take care of Mama!
GOOD LUCK, I wish you copious energy and minimal interruptions or crises of any kind, but most of all I want to inject you with confidence as you finish up this AMAZING TRILOGY.
*HUGS*
And THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for the reassurance!!! *HUGS*
The draft is going to be WONDERFUL. In fact, I'll bet you anything it already *is* wonderful! All you need to do is be kind to yourself, and enjoy as much of the writing as you can.
